- A press release from the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago announced the establishment of a new business unit. NORC Labs will use NORC’s research and technology in healthcare data analytics to help provide improved solutions for practices.
Chris Kalb, with 15 years of experience in the healthcare and technology industry, has been named Senior Vice President of NORC Labs.
“I’m excited to build on the foundation of innovation here at NORC,” said Kalb. “As data collection, analytics, and technology continue to advance, clients are looking for a partner who works one step ahead to identify trends, nurture breakthrough ideas, and understand the future potential of new services and solutions. NORC Labs will fill that role for NORC.”
NORC Labs was created as a central location to help accelerate the generation and implementation of new projects to improve the healthcare industry.
RevCycleIntelligence.com previously reported that NORC had joined forces with the Healthcare Cost Institute (HCCI) to create and implement a new Data Enclave. The Data Enclave was made for securely storing sensitive data as well as to allow researchers more time-appropriate access to data. The Data Enclave will also be within the sphere of NORC Labs along with three other projects to better utilize data for the improvement of healthcare.
