Owned and operated by the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, OSF Healthcare is an integrated health system including almost 24,000 employees across 150 locations. These locations include 15 hospitals, of which 10 are acute care, and five are critical access.
"We were looking for a utilization management platform that does it all, and XSOLIS offers the most comprehensive solution on the market," said Hoa Cooper, vice president of care management at OSF HealthCare, in a press release. "With XSOLIS' technology, we can more easily measure our collective performance to drive better outcomes."
Additionally, using an XSOLIS solution, OSF Healthcare will be able to move away from its manual care management processes while simultaneously providing optimized data insights to evaluate performance, the press release notes.
Those affiliated with OSF Healthcare also noted that a significant factor involved in the selection of CORTEX was its ability to determine lengths of stay and update patient conditions, giving providers the ability to improve case prioritization.
"The healthcare industry is continuing to realize the benefits of integrating AI into back-end processes on both the provider and payer side," said Joan Butters, CEO and co-founder at XSOLIS, in the press release. "We're excited to help OSF HealthCare discover the value of data-driven technology and how it can be leveraged to work more efficiently within their organization, as well as in their external partnerships."
OSF is one of many organizations to leverage XSOLIS. Previous partnerships have involved healthcare organizations deploying this tool to improve system operations.
In February, AnMed began using CORTEX to improve clinical staff efficiencies and utilization management. AnMed noted in a press release that as provider organizations struggle, using CORTEX could help improve staff procedures, which could lead to improvements in serving patients.
Also, in March, a Florida-based organization known as Halifax Health began using a combination of CORTEX and Physician Advisory Services to address administrative challenges between the utilization management and physician advisor teams.
Those affiliated with Halifax Health noted that amid common staffing shortages, XSOLIS ' solution could help combat these issues and reduce the revenue risk that results from inconsistent care.
